High quality decreases attenuation and reflection. The frame material on the connector is made of plastic or metal with ceramic ZrO2 ferrules.
The fibre-optic cable has a tight buffer construction ( 0,9 mm). A cable for optical pigtails and patchcords can be reinforced with Kevlar and have a protective jacket of PVC or polyethylene (PE). The cables of Breakout-type products include additional strength member and thick outer coating. PE is flame-retardant halogen free material.
Optobit provide a choice of 6 different connector types with 4 standard polishing technologies depending on the return loss of the connector. However, optical connectors can be tuned and polished following many different IL and RL limits, depending on the customer specifications. APC is the angle-polished connector, developed to decrease a return loss up to -60dB and better, for the applications, where the reflection-sensitive light sources are used in optical transmitters.

Optobit offer simplex and duplex cable types as patchcords and pigtails, i.e. simplex = 1 fibre, duplex = 2 fibres. Patchcords and pigtails are available in 3 diameters- 0,9mm, 2m and 3mm. Cables with the outer coating diameter of 2 or 3 mm and a cables of a breakout-type have the Kevlar reinforcement. Cables with the outer coating diameter of 0,9 mm have the PVC-coating and are only available in simplex version. |
